I'm not sure where Alex from Wisc skied but it wasn't Loveland CO (maybe he skied Loveland Valley the beginner area?). Always tons of snow, nice people, good variety of slopes especially on the north side. Not Mary Jane or Silverton but steep enough to challenge all but the best 1% of riders and skiers. Only negative is slow lifts but the lines are usually short and the value is unbeatable.

Decided to check out Loveland while me and the misses were out in colorado in Febuary for a three day session. We had buy one get one free lift tickets, so it was only $56 bucks for two adults. Went on a Sunday and weather was beautiful so it was somewhat crowded but nothing too bad. Only got to ride about half of the mountain but was more than happy with the terrain. Trails are somewhat short compared to the bigger resorts but I can't complain because of the lift price. More of a intermediate/expert terrain, beginners should probably start elsewhere so they can learn easier and stay out of everybodys way.Overall, I liked Loveland a lot and will charge it next time I go to CO but leave my wife at the hotel or drop her off at Breck for ski lessons.

This place is awesome. Great runs with each of them with its own flavor. Service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. No crowds at all. Did not have to wait even an instant on any of the lifts. Perfect place and does not have that overdevelop feeling. Skied Copper mountain and I would choose Loveland anytime. Great place. Super cold though.

I went there, expecting an actual mountain in Colorado. I got this small little hill that Wisconsin can beat. It's very cheap to get in, but there's a reason for that. It's not good at all. There were a ton of people there and it was way overcrowded for how much it sucked.

I was there on a Sunday in the middle of winter break on a 9 inch powder day, and the crowds were non existent. The resort is very easy to navigate. The powder was unbelievable, although after noon you would have to search for freshies since most of it was skied out. This resort is a locals hide out and now I understand why, it is affordable it has some great terrain and it is very close to Denver. The food is good and the service is grade A+++. Very nice people and good place to avoid all the ritzy, gaper skiers that hit the other resorts.

I grew up out in Colorado between parents. One in Iowa and one out there. I still have family living in Empire, about 10 miles away from Loveland. While growing up there, I've skied all of Summit County, including Breck, and Copper. I've skied Winter Park, and Steamboat. Nothing beats Loveland. Although those other places have great mountains, and great accomidations, at Loveland you get just as big of a bang, without all the bucks. The terrain is just as good as anywhere, it gets the best snow, especially in the spring, without the corporate B.S. You won't be dissapointed. And yes until last year it had the highest lift in North America, Breck beat them.
