Crested Butte is an excellent ski resort for expert skiers, with no end of extreme terrain. If you are looking at learning how to ski, I would go to Snowmass, Vail or Aspen. But double black skiers, CB is the place for you. Crested Butte also has a large terrain park and superpipe. Go to skicb.com for snow reports. the town has a population of around 2000 people and is a beautiful place in both winter and summer!

If you are looking for some of the most challenging lift accessed terrain in the lower 48s then CB is the area for you to cut your teeth....with funnels, chutes and glades that will make your palms sweat and your knees chatter, it might be a good idea to invest in a case of Depends undergarments previous to your departure...

I've been to several Colorado/New Mexico ski resorts and I fell in love with Crested Butte. We went durring christmas last year and man did it snow. We had fresh powder daily for the week we were there, it was a bit crowded but we went durring christmas so it was to be expected. I can't wait to go back.
