Grizzly Cub Kids Lessons...

The Snowbasin Grizzly Cub Snowsports Learning Center inspires children to actively learn and enjoy skiing in a fun and safe environment. Children are matched with dedicated instructors who tailor their lessons around the needs and abilities of each student. Each child learns the basic fundamentals through well-developed activities that are fun, exciting and adventurous.

Our Facilities
Your 5 to 6 year old child’s first experience is in Snowbasin’s Wildflower Meadow; a large fenced area with a gentle slope, which allows children to first experience the mountain environment away from the busy slopes. Here children orient themselves to the motions of skiing by walking and playing in their skis and boots. The Wildflower Meadow features colorful arches, tunnels, an elephant slide, a moose rocker and replicas of "wild animals," all designed to spark a child’s interest and imagination.

After conquering Wildflower Meadow, children move on to progressively more challenging terrain on Powder Puff Express Magic Carpet and the Little Cat beginner’s chair lift.

Grizzly Cub's Den is located in Snowbasin's Grizzly Center, and is the center of the Snowbasin Children's Program. Here parents and children register for lessons and meet their instructor. The children also eat lunch here and are entertained with videos, books and puzzles.

Your children dream big and so do we!

Our Legend
The legend of the kind grizzly bear named Old Ephraim, still lives today. He and his friends, the Logan Canyon animals, teach your children how to ski.

* Light-footed Daisy Deer teaches us from the very beginning to walk in our ski boots and make tracks in the snow with our skis.

* Surefooted Robbie Ram shows us how to climb making "V" tracks and "number 11" tracks to get up the small hills in Wildflower Meadow.

* Betsy Bobcat giggles and plays with us as we slide down the little hills and learn to stop safely.

* Ryan Rabbit hops and turns quickly, helping us practice until we can turn on steeper slopes.
