Limited # of trails but they are good ones. Got 3 feet of snow when I was there. The lifts are slow but the place was relatively uncrowded. Ski Canaan Valley while you are there. Putting both places together makes for a good four days of skiing.

Trails and conditions were great, but Timberline is not equipped to handle any kind of large crowds. Lifts are very slow and lines were very long.

Very little snowmaking capability when snow doesn't come. I recommend Snowshoe, WV first way more trails! Only five were open at Timberline and 23 at Snowshoe. Timberlines lifts are slow and crowded with no snow, they need to purchase more snow guns to keep all trails going instead of five little ones!!!!!

Timberline is simply the Best ski mountain in the State of WV. 1000 feet of vertical, well groomed runs that follow the fall line. Good expert and upper intermediate slopes. One long beginner trail. Knoks: potential for crowds on weekend days. extremely slow lifts, lack of nightlife.

For the money, you can't beat Timberline. It is a great value. Expect good terrain, friendly service, low prices, good value in lodging on the slopes, the shortest lift lines you've ever seen, and a fun atmosphere. Don't expect four-star pampering or fast lift lines. If you enjoy skiing and relaxing on a budget - try Timberline.

Timberline is my favorite resort in my area. When I go on group trips we usually rent a house right off of the winterset trail. This makes it really easy to avoid the small lodge. On the weekends I advise you to stay away from the main orange lift and ride the black triple. It's the same speed with less the line. My favorite run is the double diamond Off the Wall. It is steep usually icy and has giant moguls. Might not sound much fun at first, but you get used to it. Timberline is an overal fun place. Go there enjoy the valley and the laid back atmosphere.
