I was in davenport for thanksgiving and drove 2.5 hours to be able to ride, was having an awesome day really impressed with the stuff they had available, then they kicked me out because i didnt have a leash, said it was dangerous, wouldnt even let me ride a tow rope with both feet strapped in the whole time, the leash nazis kicked me out after an hour, no chance of any refund. $20 for 2 runs, and they kicked me out for no leash. Terrible - equiptement has improved since the 80s my bindings are not going to break and kill someone.

300 feet of vertical drop may not be much, but there is plenty of skiing available at Tyrol. I have had a season pass at Tyrol for 2 years now and this year it costed me 200 bucks for unlimited access! If you really want some skiing action, join ski team (that's what I did). Tyrol has the best all-around ski team our division. If you want quick lines, don't come until there are at least 2 chairlifts open. The far side offers difficult (and fun) skiing and a double-black diamond moguls hill :D! It's no mountain, but is excellent for the Midwest.
