Crystal is great but Boyne is ruining it - lift tickets 58 bucks?? are you kidding me? come on...this isn't a snobby Colorado aki resort...you're in western WA, who can afford these prices.

I purchased a gift certificate online this last Christmas and when the recipient went to use it - Crystal Mountain said it had already been used and they made him buy a new ski lift ticket. What a rip off! When I called in to speak to the customer service representative they said they would look into it - but in the end they said it wasn't their fault. No apologies, no solutions, nothing! Save yourself - Do not purchase their gift certificates online. They can very well do the same to you! Beware!!

Crystal is probably the best mountain in Washington state. The terrain in varied - lots of good green and blue runs and great expert terrain as well, which includes a whole lot of backcountry area. On a clear day, which unfortunately are too infrequent in the northwest, the views from to top of Rainier Express and High Campbell lifts are spectacular, and worth the drive on its own! Parking is pretty well organized and the there are little shuttles that make the rounds frequently.
The new lodge at the top of the Forest Queen Express lift is a welcome addition, with decent, but expensive food (but what is new there). There is not much else to do at Crystal Mountain, other than ski or board as there is no village.

Visited Crystal for the first time just after Thanksgiving 2006. Multiple dumpings of snow left a base of nearly 60 inches + in November! The mountain was 100% open but extremely crowded - which is to be expected from a mountain just 2 hours from Seattle. Still, Stevens tends to be busier. My only real complaint is with the lift system. Not enough and too slow given the crowds. Terrain is awesome, especially if you ski backcountry.

If backcountry is your thing, Crystal is exceptional. Their acreage of expert terrain is unrivaled in the Northwest. However, if jibbing is your thing, Crystal is absolutely terrible. They are adamantly anti-freestyle to a point of knocking down kickers and jumps built by riders. Crystal is definitely geared toward older riders and families.

geez-all you folks must have blinders on. Yeah this place is great= if you STRICTLY ski midweek, otherwise get in line for your 4 run $45.00 ticket day. I have skiied this area front to back, north to south, top and down...buddies and i have been chased off the hill by patrollers(day over)..i ski here only midweek, so my opinion is what it is..terrain is good, CROWDS make me go elsewhere
