Stowe is great!! We went on a very cold, windy mid weekday in mid March and we were treated to 2-4 inches of new fluff. The extreme cold must have kept the crowds away because we never waited in a line except for the gondola. We rode the intermediate trails and they were great, not as much grooming as I like but still fun. Scenery is awesome so while your skiing or riding dont forget to look around. The view up the quad and on Lord are the best. Lift tickets are high, the burger I had was fine. Cant wait to go back!

There's no point in coming only once. When I was there, they were making snow so there was about 3 feet of packed snow. I liked the main part of the resort more than spruce because there were more open trails and the gondala was more convinient. But don't get me wrong, Spruce Peak is also great. The second day, there was the previous day's snow, more snow was being made, and it was snowing. Couldnt ask for a better day for skiing.

Went skiing with 2 sons (16 and 14) on March 22-23, 2006. In past have always done Snowshoe, WV. Stowe had great packed powder conditions when we were there. We are all intermediate skiiers and Stowe had plenty of nice long blue runs with enough variety and trail crossover to keep each run interesting. No crowds at all (mid-week). Took 2-hour private lesson for $215. Didn't feel we got our money's worth. Lift tickets are also extremely high. Other complaint is that their layout at bottom of Mansfield is flawed. If you are skiing Mansfield side of mountain, once at bottom, you have to go uphill to get back to the Gondola lift to get over to other trails. Made for tired legs. Other than that and the lift ticket prices, had a great time for our first New England ski experience.

Im a beginner to intermediate, Visit 4 places in North Vermont and this was the best.
Pros: Long green trails, Scenic view, good terrain, you can combine trails, lots of trails to chose, good weather, good price, lots of fun with friends here. Good service and nice people.
Cons: Some greens cross with blacks, little confusion.
Excellent place for beginners and families, I will recommend this place to any one.

Stowe is the most fun mountain on the east coast. I have only ridden better out west. I moved to VT a few years ago, just to ride here every day and now I miss it. The terrain can be a challange, it depends where you ride. There are a lot of great secrets. The service is very friendly and there are almost never crowds, one of the reasons that I love riding in VT as opposed to NY. As for value, the day tickets are extortionate, you could almost fly out west and get a pass for the same amount!!! Thankfully I had a season pass which was also very expensive but doable. Stowe town is lovely. Picturesque VT scenery, and friendly people. GO TO STOWE.
