Thought I would try Homestead once since I have been to all the other NC, VA, WV resort. Was not impressed at all. Here is the good and bad.

Good - The hotel is nice.
Bad - The skiing is not. Only 1 actually lift which is jammed with people. Not very challenging. The most novice group of skiers I have ever seen.

I guess if you want to go for a vacation to enjoy a nice hotel and by the way do a little skiing this place would do.

Being only 70 miles from this place, I opted to take my family here for a Sunday. Big mistake, I should have went anywhere else. After 2 hours we arrived only to be treated rudely and told there were no rentals, that everything was reserved! So we climbed back in the vehicle for another 2 hour ride not believing how ruined our Sunday was.
The food was outrageously expensive. A turkey wrap for over $7. I will never go back - ever. The children were very dissapointed, and also commented on the rude older woman in the rental building. I learned to ski here, and all of my great memories of the Homestead went out the window.
