Hello everyone,

I do not recommend going to Mont Tremblant to do the alpine ski because of the multiple problems with their chair's lifts.

This 2008 year the chair lifts had not been maintained well: 1 chair lift stopped for 6 hours and the people had been removed from these chairs on the ropes.

Another chair's lift stopped for 1.5h, fortunately, it had been repaired after 1.5h. The stuff said that this lift had the mechanical problems.

I think it is unacceptable to keep people so long on the chairs lifts

This ski experience does not match the hype.

The natural setting is spectacular. The ambience is Disney. the crowds are staggering. I have only visited a single time and I am reluctant to return.

On my first ascent one of the lifts was inoperable and my son and I waited for a full hour before we reached the summit.

The view from the top is superb down the main face, but we stayed on the back side where the traffic was much lighter and the terrain much less interesting.

If is do return, it will be midweek in the slow part of the season.

It is a ski bunnies delight, very fashionable and the shopping is high end intense.

I have skied at mt tre. for the last ten yrs on MLK weekend. At times it has been extremely cold. However, it has usually been no worse temp. wise than any other place in the east. Speaking of east it is eastern skiing, The snow pack can be very Hard, be sure your edges are sharp. If there is good snow the tree skiing can be lots of fun. The mt can be crowded but it does have the village. The lights the shops the bars, the restuarants. Skiing Tremblant is live a mini euro vacation. One couple we travel with don't ski, they just come to enjoy the village.

For our skier from BC what can you say, trying to compare Whisler & Tremblant you can not. As for the attuide maybe look in the mirror! Our family of six went from February 12 to the 15th. Stay at the lodge de la montange. People and staff are great!! We have skied at Stratton and Killinton and for total atmosphere Tremblant by far out does them. For price for the six of us 3 nites and sking under $1000 cdn.

On the down side the south slope all leads to one area that was congested and for novice skiers mogeuls to ski in not good.

In all well worth the trip and experence!!!!

Living in Mont Tremblant I get to see it at its best, and at its worst. If you are planning to come here for a ski vacation and have the flexibility to choose the dates you can make for a great trip.

What to avoid - Hollidays, simply because the crowds can be huge. Christmas break is amazing for the atmosphere (no place better)..but for skiing it is cold 90% of the time (and by cold I mean anywhere from -20 to -40). If you come over christmas break I would recommend a vacation here simply to enjoy the village (there is amazing dining and the bars with open views of the mountain can't be beat), and buy your ski tickets on a day by day basis. Highschool March break (around the 13th of March I believe) is another very busy week with large crowds on the slopes.

When to come - Snow condition are usually excellent from mid Feb to mid March, not to mention warmer temperatures. If you are able to ski during the week (mon-frid) you will benefit from smaller crowds, great runs, and great snow conditions.

Excellent place for beginners and intermediates. I have been skiing for 5 years and this is one of the best so far in the west cost.

Pros: lots of different trails available,Long trails, gondolas, good food, places to rest and eat in both side of mountains.

Cons: Cold, Ice conditions in some trails, crowded, expensive compare to other places in the west side, 1:30 hours from Montreal 2:30 hours under a winter storm…

One of the best in the east coast, I really enjoyed it, hope to return.

I run a corporate seminar every January in Tremblant and it is perfect. The participants love the skiing, love the dining, love the activities and I love the fact that everything is close by and convenient.

The skiing is challenging but not too hard so everyone can pretty much ski together. The accommodations are the same at all the hotels/lodges, above average and homey.

I love this place for the family also, usually making one three day trip with them a year. The best part about the family skiing is that the kids can move around the hills themselves - they always and easily end up back at the village and can walk back to the condo when they are tired.

Best ski package outside of Whistler on the continent.
