A superb mountain that rises majestic from the St. Lawrence affording spectacular views looking up at it from the bottom and on the way down. The trails favor the intermediate and advanced skier.

The tele-cabine (gondola) rises from a large enclosure that protects you from the wind and the cold while waiting to ascend. Some of the chair lifts have wind screens that make the ride up much more comfortable. I am surprised that they are absent from most resorts in the East.

The social ambience is fabulous with many fine eateries and bistros. This is a friendly place for kids and adults.

The hotel at the base of the mountain is a combination of a fine hotel and a lodge. It is literally steps away from the gondola. The dining at the hotel is a gourmet delight.

The mountain is a 20 to 30 minute drive from downtown Quebec City where the nightlife is unique, romantic and fun.

When the mountain is lit up in the evening for night skiing it becomes a true winter wonderland.

It's a long drive from my home in Northampton, MA, but it well worth the travel and has provided my fondest ski vacations.

I have skied Colorado - Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone etc.. Vermont - Killington, Stowe. Southern Appalachians - British Columbia and I still keep coming back to Mont Sainte Anne and I will keep coming back. In my opinion one would have to Ski the Alps to enjoy (perhaps) a better mountain. Since 1998 I have skied MSA at least 11 times. I have my next trip booked for Feb. 2006. My wife and I always stay at Chalets Montmorency at the base of the mountain. Always perfect, but you don't have to take my word, just ski MSA and you will come back.
