Overall, Tussey Mt. is a great little mountain mainly for beginner and intermediate skiiers.
TERRAIN: If you are a beginner or intermediate, you will have fun on the slopes; the runs will keep you entertained. If you are an advanced skiier looking for thrills, you should go elsewhere as the number of black runs is lacking.
SERVICE: Friendly staff. Nice little lodge with an "old school" feel.
CROWDS: Tussey Mt is usually not crowded in the mornings, even on weekends!
ACTIVITIES: The mountain is located 5 minutes outside of Penn State University. There is a TON to do apres skiing--great nightlife, great restaurants, great bars!
VALUE: The mountain is a good value. The lift tickets are pretty cheap compared to other PA ski areas. They also offer inexpensive packages for those looking to learn how to ski. They also offer a two hour lift ticket, which is appealing for two reasons: 1) because the lines are short, you can get in a lot of runs in that amount of time and 2) if the conditions are less than desirable you are not out a lot of money.
While this is NOT a big mountain, nor a posh resort in any fashion, it is a good value for your ski dollar.
