I think that Libery Mountain is as good as you can get in the area. Yeah, its mid-Atlantic, so there is often ice, but they do what they can with it. They have recently updated many of their snowmakers to reduce this problem.

As far as the staff goes, I haven't seen any better. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They like being there as much as the skiiers and boarders.

Crowds can get a little big on a Friday or Saturday, but that just goes to show that it is a good place to be.

I have mixed feelings about this hill. The lodge and customer serivice was excellent. The beginner slopes are the best in the area. The Dipsy is long and allows beginners an opportunity to acutally work on skiing. I was very disappointed with the lift staff. I ski with my three young kids and my wife who is in her first year. For beginners, getting off the lift is a bit steep and results in numerous falls. Since one of the popular beginner slopes starts at the top, many beginners go up there, fall and get run over. The lift staff did not slow or stop the lift to allow the area to get clear. Collisions were a big problem and I found the staff unresponsive to these accidents unless you start yelling, which is unfortunate. While I am an advanced skier, I understand higher level skiers not being very sympathetic to this problem, but that Quad is the only way up the main part of the hill from the lodge and people need to be a bit more patient, especially with our younger or beginner skiers. For instance, my nine year old daughter fell (who skiis black diamonds) coming off the lift, was hit by a snowboarder who followed. Meanwhile, my seven year old (who also skiis black diamonds), standing 20 feet off the lift while I helped my daughter get up, was plowed over by a second group of snowboarders coming off the lift. Within 4 chairs, there were 8 people piled up before the staff came out (with lift still running) and asked, "are you ok" in a very non-caring manner.

The fact there is only one Quad to get to the top means everyone has to take this ride to get to the other side (where there are two more lifts on the other side). This causes major line problems! I felt I spent more time waiting in line than skiing!

Overall, I found found the blues and blacks a bit short compared to Whitetail, but I liked the longer Dipsy for the beginners if you don't get killed trying to get to the trail! If your a beginner whose ready to get off the bunny hill, I would recommend Liberty, but go during the week when traffic is less; you'll have alot more fun!

I just dont like it. It is way to small. When our on top u can see other mountains that are close and much higher. The Grooming is not very good and it is always very very icy. On a Friday or saturday you spend 10 times as much time on the lifts or in the lift lines as on the slopes. It will usually take 10-20 minutes to get to the top (depends if so dumb person falls getting on the lift) and for me about a minute to get down any of the runs. It is especially bad if you go in the park. People in there are horrible and just sit around so you can't do two hits in a row. They just stop in the middle of the run!! The park isnt steep enough to do this so basically u can do anything elese. The only reason I go there is because its the closest resort. And they cost is way to much for everything there. $36 bucks for 4 hours and $8 for 3 chicken strips.
