If you're looking for a party, you better bring it with you. Denton is, by most people's accounts as well as mine, out in the middle of nowhere. The lodge is definitely not high class, and some of the lifts are slow. That being said, Denton is the most awesome Pennsylvania ski resort I have ever been to! Awe-inspiring views of North-Central Potter County, or God's country, as the local's call it. But that's not even the best part. If you come to Denton, you come to ski some of the best terrain in Pennsylvania. It has great terrain for every level of skier, from beginner to expert. Yes, the bunny hill is a little steeper than most other resorts, but that just helps you progress to the harder trails faster.Once you've gotten your skiers legs, beginners and intermediates try sidewinder, a great cruiser run that zig-zags down the side of the mountain. Just be careful you don't accidentally go onto Avalanche, which is right next to sidewinder. Experts, however, may eat their hearts out here. At 66 degrees, Avalanche is the steepest slope in the Eastern United States. If somehow that doesn't pump the adrenaline enough for you, try throwing in a few trees with that incredible steepness and take a run down Extreme. More Advanced intermediates will like Frost Bite, with a good steep pitch at the top to get the adrenaline going, then gradually easing out into a more level run towards the bottom, to keep things from getting too difficult. Overall, one of the best and unspoiled skiers mountains in Pennsylvania. If you want a party, look elsewhere. If you want to ski, come to Denton!

While Denton's lodge isn't the most luxurious, the slopes outside will have you happy enough to forget the conditions inside. Denton has a great variety of terrain for all skill levels, from beginner to expert, the crowds never keep you in a lift line for long, and the scenery is spectacular. It's a resort that's definitely worth a return trip, although it might be even better if you stay somewhere other than their lodge.
