This is a wonderful mountain for an intermediate skier, with the exception of a few trails at the base of the mountain (like White Lighting - with one of the steepest drops in the NE). The terrain is fun and interesting and it is very easy to navigate the mountain. They make GREAT snow! I went during the beginning of the season when it was 50 degrees out and the snow was wonderful! The mountain does get crowded at certain times of the day. Go to the mountain early... most of the people are locals and go later in the day I noticed. The lift tickets are a great buy for the type of skiing you will get. The mountain isn't that big though... so if you are use to VT skiing with the long trails, you may not like this mountain. The great thing also is that they offer a lift ticket for any 4 hours ... so if you want to ski half day, this is the perfect mountain!

Terrain: Think low, as in lower half of mountain if you want any challenge and perhaps an escape from the crowds. The lower half has decent blacks, including White Lightening, sometimes moguled. Some nice drop offs. Plus it just feels like a different place down there, away from the zoo at the top. Has good snow generally due to being low on hill, with less sun exposure. Not always smooth even when groomed, but it will make you a better skier.
Service: As good as it gets with the crowds. Think "early lunch". Lots of people in lodge thru afternoon.
Crowds: Billy from Philly must be skiing Montage at 2am because every time I've been there it is crowded with the local Wilkes Barre skiers who aren't going to ELK MT or other Pocono resorts. Big Sky is on my schedule this year... another ballpark out there.
Activities: Don't notice these things much.
Value: I wish the entire mountain was like the lower half, but it's a good half or 3/4 day of skiing.
