My home mountain, where I learned to ski and if you can ski the black diamonds here, you can ski anywhere. I've skied all over the country, up north and out west and when the conditions are ideal (which unfortunately is rare) blue knob is comprable to any mtn out west. Just wish the runs were a little longer! I am so lucky to have grown up on this mtn rather than others in PA like seven springs. Def the most challenging in PA!

Been boarding here for years. Best terrain i have seen in the mid atlantic, but all terrain is not always accessible. Mtn is extremely dependent on natural snow, if Blue knob gets pounded with snow it is amazing, the blacks diamonds and up about as hard as they come in the mid atlantic but once again you probably won't get to see them unless the mtn just got a foot or 2 of snow. The "resort" and i say resort lightly has a cheap feel to it, it does not seem like much money goes into anything here, the lodge has more of a cabin feel to it, nothing really nice about it. Normally only runs 2 lifts 3 if you count the bunnie slope. The 2 lifts are a triple that is alright, it is a decent ride back to the top, and a double from the bottom of the mtn that seems to take forever, given the distance traveled is long compared to most other mtns but this lift is from like 1970. One weekends if they get enough people they will turn on a second double from the bottom to help with lines. As far as crowds go it is random on weekends, some are crowded some are not. Week days...amazing, you might be one of 5 other people on the mtn that day not counting staff, weekend nights tend to bring school groups in early season but most of the kids just sit in the lodge so it is still pretty empty. I have been on the mountain on weekdays and literally i didn't see a single person the whole way down. As far as activities go, there is not much going on up there, you are in the middle of nowhere, on certain days they set up a track for skiers to race, but other than that good luck finding anything to do, but then again i typically go to a mtn to ride. Value, probably the cheapest place around, can't complain there. No comment on buying food because every resort has crazy prices on food it should be expected bring your own food.

All in all i like the mtn mainly because of terrain, the mtn is great for just freestyle riding, you can always find lines that duck in and out and have some knuckles and lips to just have a good time with. The mountain is not two short it is long especially for mid atlantic, the mountain does not have a lot of acres but you can ride close to 80 percent of all the mtn especially if there is lots of snow, blue knob offers lots of glade trails which can be a blast when there is a lot of fresh pow pow.

The terrain park.....ha.....hahaha......more like a joke, sometimes they have a few rails set up, a box or 2 and some really bad jumps that i wouldn't adviise anyone to actually attempt. The park has more of an urban park feel to it because well they don't pay anyone to set the "park" up, they pretty much just throw all their rails and boxes into the area that they call the "park" and hope that some bored highschool kids will set them up.....and they do. I don't know if this is genius or laziness but it works to some extent.

Basically if there is lots of fresh snow, take off work and hit it up on the weekday and it could be one of the best east coast riding experiences you have had other than that it is hit or miss.

Fantastic place to ski. Never have to wait in line, slopes are well groomed. I skied Blue Knob twice this season and it was great. We will be back.
