I'm a long time skiier on Mt. Hood and "The Bowl" is defintely the best place on the mountain to get a well rounded experience. The big news (aside from all the new condos and growth in the Government Camp area) is that a tram is coming to connect Skibowl and Timberline. The scuttlebut is that a tram will be built in the next few years to create a comprehensive Mt. Hood experience. Being able to buy a ticket that will allow you to ski Timberline and Skibowl will open up the mountain (as well as Timberline's plan to add new runs to the west of their existing boundaries) and make Mt. Hood a little more of a world class ski destination. Who knows- maybe Meadows will be invited to join the party and we'll be able to ski the whole mountain from one convienient base lodge area. Dare to dream!

This place is a throwback to the dawn of skiing. The terrain is fantastic, the lifts are antiquated, the base lodge is barebones, the on-slope restaurant/bar is like something out of the 1800s, the slopeside lodging is non-existant, and the lift tickets are cheap.

I am a long time boarder on mount hood and have found after spending seasons at all the major ski areas on hood that skibowl offers the best total package. Great runs for all levels including my favorite the double black outback section. good intermediate terrain parks and a staff and a company that's really connected with the real skiiers and riders I would reccomend skibowl to any rider new to the Portland Area.

When the freezing level drops to the valley floor and it starts dumping Upper Ski Bowl is the place to be. Only Heather Canyon has better terrain.
