Holiday Valley is just okay. It has pretty good terrain and is probably one of the best resorts in the east, but compared to out west skiing it isn't that good. If you haven't been out west, you'll probably like it. If your just looking for a good time, it's okay. If you've been out west, you'll be disappointed greatly at Holiday Valley.

This is one of my favorite resorts, my family goes here every year. The amount of slopes that are open is very consistent. This would be the resort where I have the most amount of fun. It is perfect for people with all different levels of ability.

We just spent the Prez holiday weekend here and had a wonderful time. It is the largest resort I have ever been to so all the ratings I have given takes my limited experience into account. The terrain is the best Ive been on and kept us busy and entertained for 2 days and an evening. All service related items were very good. Activities are hard for me to judge because I have never been to anything bigger. I rated value as neutral because of the holiday pricing. I rated crowds low because it was crowded. However there was no extended waits at the lifts and the runs coming down seemed to handle all the people fairly well. I can honestly say we skied and skied and skied with very little waiting at the lifts or overcrowding on the hills. Overall, this place provided us intermediate skiers a memorable experience and we do plan on making the 6 hour trip again in the future.

This is a great resort for families. We went over Presidents' Weekend. It was a bit crowded but the resort handled it well. The wait in lines was not that long. The lifts were fast and the slopes were in fantastic shape. We stayed at the Inn and could not have chosen a better place. It was clean and friendly and we walked to the lift. We are making it a yearly trip. Only 7 hours to the slopes.

Great family ski day and excellent for the older kids at night.
Good variety of runs so even pro skiers will find some challenging runs.
The top two lodges have been renovated and are stunning. Can get cramped at lunch time on the weekends but if the weather is somewhat moderate you can bbq and eat outside on the patio's. The town is noce but the ride north home usually has some snow and can be slow.
Overall a great place for a day of skiing.

Holiday Valley has spoiled me for all other ski areas in western NY. I learned to ski there and now I just can't justify spending my money anywhere else. The lifts are fast, the lines are short, there is a wide variety of terrain for all ability levels, the lodges are new and beautiful, especially Yodler Lodge, and I try to convince everyone I know that skiing anywhere else is a waste of time. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes in lift lines, even on the big holidays, the slopes are always well groomed, and Holiday has snow before anyone else and after everyone else's has melted. Friendly, Family oriented, GREAT SKIING EXPERIENCE!!!!
