oh Diamond Peak, really one of the best resorts anywhere. I have skiied at many places, both big and small, Diamond Peak holds a special place in my heart. it is rather small in the tahoe area, but you get the best of it. runs, even black runs are well groomed, and they are not short, the big blue, great flume, is actually their longest run and is a very solid blue from top to bottom and you can do a couple small jumps at the bottom terrain park after carving a super fast run. the blacks like lightning, thunder, and battleborn are carvers paradise, no other people around, one groom can last couple days, go as fast as you can. the solitude canyon area is also cool, go find yourself. and the ridge run is just beautiful as heavenly without the crowd. food is good, and the mid-mountain restaurant, forgot the name of it but there was only one, has the very best view in the entire area. the resort is very family friendly, I see staff very nice taking small kids skiing. and you can actually let small kids go by themselves here without worrying them getting lost, all runs eventually back at the same place, and their four lifts that operational, 3 end at the same place and the high speed chair ends in the lower part of the mountain along one of the main runs. price is very good too, local ski shops sell discounted tickets, and snowbomb.com has the best price, around $25 for a whoe day. the ski school here is also the best in the country, group lesson is very cheap, and staff not only know how to ski but they know how to teach, my wife took 2 intermediate classes and she was taught alone like a private lesson, and she learnd drills that I know myself but don't know how to teach. if you enjoy carving without the crowd, come to DP, if you are first timers, come here as well, don't go along with the crowd, this is a hidden gem.
