We spent a day at Ragged while visiting relatives in NH over the holiday week, and had a wonderful experience. It had been 10 yrs since my dh and I had skied, and our young children had never been before. Ragged was the perfect place for us to begin again.

Pros: The service was superior: friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Our youngest, age 2, went to the nursery for the day (great program), our other 2 were in ski school (they loved it), and the rest of us (3 adults and one youth) spent the day enjoying skiing again. The crowds were light and the conditions were ok given how much rain there had been and how warm it was.

Cons: Many of the trails were closed, which was disappointing to many other skiers. We didn't mind since we were novices again and the green/blue ones that were open met our needs. But you should call ahead.
