I have only visited Loon, Wachusetts and Pat's Peak. So far, I like Pat's Peak because it is the least crowded even on a weekend. It gets a bit crowded on Saturday night because of the "POP" but it is nothing compare to Wachusetts. The chairlifts are slow but there is rarely a line, so it isn't much of an issue. The lodge is kids friendly and I like that they have a day care center although the staff do not seem to be as good as I expect. I checked my 1 year old periodaically. First time I checked, my baby had a leaking diaper because it wasn't put on tight enough. The second time, she had her diaper backward. I don't expect everyone to know how to change diaper but one would think a day care center would at least get this basic correct.

There is one complaint about the layout of the trails. The 2 small bunny hills are located between some trails, so there are some cross traffic at the base of the bunny hills which could be dangerous to beginners who couldn't stop. The small bunny doesn't have a flat area to stop which might be good to force beginners to learn. However, I like the larger bunny hill (Bluster), it is wide, long, and fairly spacious at the base. It is long enough to practice, yet not too intimidating for young beginners. The novice trails are easy and fun. I went for the 3rd time in one week and the last visit was a bit icy and the trails didn't seem to be groomed. At any case, when the condition is right, it could be great fun and I recommend it for the entire family. It is probably too small and easy for more advanced skiers/snowboarders.

The shop has the essentials but very small. It is certainly not a place to buy a helmet or a snowboard but if you forget to pack your kids' gloves. It is there to save your day.

Considering that we haven't had natural snow this season, the conditions at Pat's Peak were pretty good: groomed granular without many icy spots. The staff was VERY polite and helpful; and I hardly had to wait to get on a lift. Considering that they also have snow tubes for those who don't ski or snowboard, its great for school/group trips. Easily the most affordable place for the overall value. BEST IN S.NEW ENGLAND!!

Skiied on a Friday. Chose to try it out becuase they advertised 100% open trails (each trail was marked "open") with packed powder conditions. The weather this year has been pretty bad, but they advertised 100% snowmaking so I thought it might be true.
Good: EXCELLENT facilities for such a small mountain - better than I've found at many larger mountains! No real crowds. Good snowmaking coverage on the open trails.
Bad: For a 100% open mountain, their was almost no glade skiing (which was marked open on the website) and 3 of their expert trails were closed (also marked open online) even though they had plenty of snow on them! Maybe they were "saving" these trails for the weekend.
Summary: I might try it again on a weekend to see if they open up more terrain.
