better than sugar..i was in both place sugar & hawksnest. it was good for beginner. cheap. not crowded.

As a group representing more than five families we have visited Hawksnest annually for three years and stay a week at a time in the area.
Hawksnest packs several runs under the two lifts (beginner tow not included) and has a couple that are steep enough to get your attention. The crowd during the weekdays has not been a issue. The Terrain park has moved from one trail to another over the years but has had rails, tables and snow kickers of various sizes which fit my personal taste as a boarder. There is even a short but flat Tree run as you exit from the top of the mountain.
It isnt as close to town as Sugar or Beech so plan your day accordingly. I look forward to this resort as much as any other.
