After some delay on my part I signed my daughter and I up for the ski free lessons. We had a beautiful day weather wise and a wonderful day skiing. Everyone that taught the lessons was great. George Jerry and I think Betsy and one other gentleman. With their help and patience I got signed off and my lift ticket. I never thought I would be trying skiing anymore at my age but I have to admit I had a very good time. I also saw one of the gentlemen from the lessons later in the day and he remember me and asked if I had gotten down maple syrup yet. Well I got that one down and tried homestead in which I piled up on but didn't get hurt thank goodness. I did tackle it again and managed that one too. Then my son talked me into timber doodle I think was the name. I did manage that one too but boy that was more than I bargained for but I had a great time. Glad that my family had a chance to try this to see if my daughter and I would enjoy it. Now knowing we all enjoy it it will give one more thing in common and one more thing to do as a family. Looking forward to going again next year. Had a great time thanks to all the friendly staff at the lodge.

After all the snow had melted and all the ski resorts had closed in April the UP had a snow storm and ski brule was the only ski resort to reopen. Me and my friend went to try it since the base(according to their website) was very decent and looked like they could last at least another week. We went up there April 7 and were suprised greatly at the snow quantity. The temp was high 20's and about 75 percent of their runs were open including the terrain park which was ok but hey, it's april. All the runs were groomed and most of the lifts were running and even the back hill runs were open. The horses were out of there shed at the base and we took a ton of pics. There was literally only one other family and a few other guys on the whole hill. overall i think is true to is word about being the last to close and i can't wait to come back during prime season!

When I went the place was great. I went in April of 06 and it was nice being able to ski in 60 degree weather. The snow was icy in some spots but way better than I expected. There were literally 40 people on the whole mountain. You pretty much had the whole run to yourself. Make sure you stop at the Homested Lodge on the Homested run because the food is excellent. If you go don't stay at the lodge there insted drive 10 minutes to the next town because the hotels are twice as nice as those rooms and half the price.

Make sure if you go you print a trail map because they don't give them out. Also not many blacks but great for beginners.

It nice ski area close to Indiana (9 hours via automobile). Terrain park fun. Terrain trails good for teaching purposes. Lodging is good. Area food is excellent. Nice place to spend a couple of days on some slopes.

A great family resort with a focus on kids. Good variety of runs for all levels of skiers including two terrain runs through the woods, Snickerdoodle and Timberdoodle that the kids love! Brule also has a terrain park for the boarders. Blue and black runs are short and you spend too much time on the lifts which can get crowded on the weekends.
Brule does a great job of grooming and snowmaking and often has the longest season of any resort in the midwest. Be sure to warm up at the Homestead Lodge located on the Homestead run!
