For a SE Michigan location, you won't find much better. Pine Knob has without question, the best snowmaking capability in the state. Even when warm conditions beat up the snow here, it only takes a day or so of colder temperatures to fully recover the entire hill to excellent conditions.
While many local folks come here to "warm up" for their up north or out west expeditions, PK is a great place to do a lot of good skiing. Many good racers, Freeskiers and Snowboarders have come out of the excellent programs here.

The ski school (privately owned) offers a great program to students as well as private lessons and packages.

I'm not a PK employee, but I've been an independent Ski Instructor there for 14 years and really love PK. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.
