Nice. No crowds even over New Years. Great glades. Great snow. A little cold. Very friendly staff. Nice slopeside accommodations. Great family place. Not a ton of nightlife, but I go to snowboard.

If you haven't skied Schweitzer then you're missing out on a really special skiing experience. They usually have tons of snow, people are really friendly, the terrain is varied and challenging, and the view of the Selkirks and surrounding Panhandle area is beautiful. About the only thing this mountain has lacked has been great access to easier skiing on the front side of the mountain, and that problem should be solved with the new high speed detachable quad planned to replace Chair 1 for 2007/2008. The new quad will unload mid mountain on the front side and provide easier access to some of the blue runs on the front side. This should ease some congestion on Musical Chairs and make the mountain more kid friendly. Another lift will start mid mountain and take skiers to some of the more challenging terrain higher up on the mountain and unload close to where Chair 1 topped out. I'll be back for spring break this year then look forward to the exciting changes for next season.

Can't wait to get back to Schweitzer this season. Gorgeous views in every direction from the top - the lake, mountains, the village of Sandpoint. Great terrain and nice atmosphere combine to make this one of my all-time favorite places to ski.

One of my all-time favorite mountains. Spent a great week skiing Schweitzer in 2003. Didn't even scratch the surface of all the mountain has to offer. It has everything a great mountain should, without all the crowds and hype. Needed to rest the knees one day and enjoyed a pleasant day in the charming nearby town of Sandpoint. I can't wait for my next visit.

Schweitzer is one of the great ski mountains of the west. I've been skiing there for years, long before it was "discovered" by all the national magazines. Great terrain, plenty of snow, awesome views, and friendly, down home people. I can't wait to check out the new terrain on Little Blue.
