I live about a hour and a half from Telluride. My girlfriend and I bought season passes for like $130 and it has been well worth it. We go up on weekends and can be certain that the snow will be great. Pretty much 50% of the youth in Montrose have season passes and go every weekend. I <3 T-Ride

Telluride is the most amazing mountain, with unbelievable terrain. Clearly, Anna from Texas is a horrible skier. She must also be a snob that cannot appreciate the real outdoors. We have just returned from a President's Day (holiday) weekend there, where we did not wait in line for longer than one minute. We also found fresh tracks each of our three days there because the ski patrol has done such an impeccable job of keeping the mountain fresh and without hazard. We hiked up to Baldy and past Genevieve into the Black Iron Bowl several times during the three days with white gold awaiting our arrival. The lower groomers provided a much needed reprieve from our more rugged adventures. Of course the resort costs money, they all do. The prices for our hotel, food, and lift tickets were no more than any other major resort in the west or east. If Anna and her family would like to bad mouth this mountain, perhaps it is better for her to bring her family to the crowded, and uppity, resorts of Whistler and Aspen. I will stay in the most beautiful, and challenging, terrain hidden in the San Juans.

I will start out this review with the positives and then progress on to the negatives. Positives...views. Views are spectacular. Now on to the negatives. Overpriced. This includes lodging, lift tickets, ski school, and food. Ski school is a must for our family and we were VERY disappointed in our results. The ski school provided a very UNSAFE environment for our kids. The communication between the instructor and parents was terrible. You expect top quality when you are paying top price! We have been to several other resorts including Park City, Whistler-Blackcomb, and Beaver Creek and all were way much more organized and professional and not to mention safer for our kids. The terrain was ok but no comparison to Whistler. Too much powder created a problem on the flatter blues....too much "poling". I had been told that lift lines would not be a problem at Telluride but that was far from the truth down at the base. I will never return to Telluride. It took to much effort to get there and was so NOT worth it.

I first got the idea to go to Telluride from looking at pictures from ski magazines and books. It was stunning just to look at the pictures. This was to be my first resort outside the Lake Tahoe area. My trip turned out to be more than just a fantasy but a dream come true. Telluride as a whole was absolutely the best vacation of my life - and that includes 4 trips to Nepal.

The ski resort was a blast for both my girlfriend and myself. The view from the top ridge was worth the trip itself. This was supposed to be a warm up for Silverton Mountain but the double blacks were very satisfying. The long groomers were also fun to click into high gear and get the "led out".

We stayed in a condo that we skied into in the village and at night took the gondola down to town for world class meals and no shortage of cocktails with no worry of driving.

It was expensive but so what! Take a few hundred extra dollars and enjoy yourself. If you cant afford it -GO ANYHOW -. We are going to Sun Valley this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it can compare to Telluride. Now THAT may be asking too much. Telluride is spectactular.....

Telluride is iconic. It's not that Telluride has the most vertical, the most runs, or the most snow, which inevitably is what unassuming readers of this review usually base their oppinions on. Telluride is the amalgamation of incredible service, ambiance, beauty, and obviously the unique uncrowded ski resort. At 1700 acres Telluride is one third the size of Vail but per person density is about three times less at Telluride than Vail, Breck, Keystone, WP, Whistler, Aspen etc. The only comparable ski resort that I can think of is Jackson Hole but then again Jackson Hole doesn't facilitate the intermediate and beginning skiers the way Telluride does either. The gondola linking Telluride(proper) and mountain village can not be vicariously lived on a website or by reading a review through the internet: it must be experienced. Telluride is consistent through and through offering up anything any skier/boarder in the world could want or imagine. Telluride is the complete package bundled into a convenient Swiss style box canyon that places service, accesibility, and quality higher than any other ski resort I can think of

I've skied resorts all around the world and I just have to say that Telluride's beauty is unsurpassed. Great snow conditions. Lots of variety and a lot of expert terrain. Wonderful town and great lodging. I would recommend Telluride to anyone!

Spectacular scenery! Without a doubt the best variety of terrain in Colorado. Telluride has great, dry powder, and it can't be described truthfully until you have skied on it. Moguled Steeps for experts, flat runs for beginners, amazing intermediate cruising, not to mention the only heli-skiing service in Colorado. Make absolutely sure that you try the heliskiing and get waste deep in powder at least one day of your visit to Telluride. Off the mountain, Telluride ranks as one of the best ski towns in the nation in my opinion. Very nice, gracious people, and a great variety of nightlife for apres ski. Make sure you visit it at least once in your lifetime!

I've been skiing for 23 years. I came to Telluride 7 years ago and have not been to another ski resort since...don't want to. Unsurpassed views and great restaurants. Telluride is the best overall ski experience out there...bar none! I prefer the town over Mountain Village. It's much more laid back and the people are very friendly. And in all the years I've been going, I've never seen it overcrowded like a lot of ski resorts I've been to. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and go!

Overall, my experince at Telluride Ski resort was good. The Adult lessons were well run with a good student to instructor ratio. The Children's ski school was a disappointment. They lost one of my children the first day (although we tracked her down after about 10 minutes), they lost my child's skis the second day, and left her equipment layin gon the ground near the lift (rather than in the storage racks for the school) the third day. I expect the istructors to take more responsibility for 4-6 year olds and assure the child and equipment are tracked throughout the day.
