Decided to check out Loveland while me and the misses were out in colorado in Febuary for a three day session. We had buy one get one free lift tickets, so it was only $56 bucks for two adults. Went on a Sunday and weather was beautiful so it was somewhat crowded but nothing too bad. Only got to ride about half of the mountain but was more than happy with the terrain. Trails are somewhat short compared to the bigger resorts but I can't complain because of the lift price. More of a intermediate/expert terrain, beginners should probably start elsewhere so they can learn easier and stay out of everybodys way.Overall, I liked Loveland a lot and will charge it next time I go to CO but leave my wife at the hotel or drop her off at Breck for ski lessons.

This place is awesome. Great runs with each of them with its own flavor. Service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. No crowds at all. Did not have to wait even an instant on any of the lifts. Perfect place and does not have that overdevelop feeling. Skied Copper mountain and I would choose Loveland anytime. Great place. Super cold though.

I went there, expecting an actual mountain in Colorado. I got this small little hill that Wisconsin can beat. It's very cheap to get in, but there's a reason for that. It's not good at all. There were a ton of people there and it was way overcrowded for how much it sucked.

I was there on a Sunday in the middle of winter break on a 9 inch powder day, and the crowds were non existent. The resort is very easy to navigate. The powder was unbelievable, although after noon you would have to search for freshies since most of it was skied out. This resort is a locals hide out and now I understand why, it is affordable it has some great terrain and it is very close to Denver. The food is good and the service is grade A+++. Very nice people and good place to avoid all the ritzy, gaper skiers that hit the other resorts.

I grew up out in Colorado between parents. One in Iowa and one out there. I still have family living in Empire, about 10 miles away from Loveland. While growing up there, I've skied all of Summit County, including Breck, and Copper. I've skied Winter Park, and Steamboat. Nothing beats Loveland. Although those other places have great mountains, and great accomidations, at Loveland you get just as big of a bang, without all the bucks. The terrain is just as good as anywhere, it gets the best snow, especially in the spring, without the corporate B.S. You won't be dissapointed. And yes until last year it had the highest lift in North America, Breck beat them.

What a great ski area! Open earlier than all others every year and great conditions to boot. Can't wait to get back again after experiencing Opening Day and rip around some more. Great prices for everything also, tickets to lessons. Don't forget the grill and cooler, the lot is a happening place so bring what you need to have fun!

I have lived in Colorado my whole life and have boarded many of the resorts all around the state. I have been to all of the super resorts and have had a good time at most of them. I do like the really high speed lifts at the large resorts, but you have to wait in line on an average of 10-20 minutes!!! On a busy day you could be waiting in line for 45 minutes just to get ON the lift!! I have had a season pass to Loveland for years now and I have only had to wait in line for maybe 10 minutes MAX. That was on a holiday weekend too! Most of the time you never wait in line and you have access to some of the best terrain in the whole county. I think Breckenridge took the title for highest lift this year, but Loveland has had that title for along time. We are talking about a lift that goes over 13,000' in elevation with some of the best views ever. I can say that loveland does have a tendancy to get cold...REAL cold. But given that half of the resort is above treeline thats to be expected. So you need to make sure you have proper gear or you could actually get frostbite on a cold day (they have warning in the windows on most the high lift exits :) Other than the cold days, you will sometimes be blessed with a perfect calm day and FEET of the best powder anywhere. I have had some of the most memerable days ever at Loveland. I went about 30-40 times last season and plan on doing it again this season!!! O-yah... Loveland is also the closest resort to Denver and has the cheapest season passes and some very cheap lift tickets. So to sum it up... if you want some of the best snow, terrain, no crowds and small lift lines... come to Loveland. If you want to watch other people board, shop and eat expensive crappy food... KEEP ON DRIVING! ;)
