From a snow boarder's perspective, this park can be summed up in two words... Beginners only.
Terrain: This is my second biggest gripe about Donner Downhill. It is simply an oversized bunny hill. Nothing more, nothing less. The trail maps at Donner claim to have over 10 trails but really, it's just one slope divided by absolutely nothing. The backside remained relatively unexplored by me because half the trails were non existent and the one trail that was open was for skiers. Me and my friends realized this too late and ended up being stuck on a flat trail. Needless to say, we were limited to the front side of the hill and essentially had three trails at our disposal. We had two black diamonds to our left and one big treeless slope to our right. Not very entertaining and each of these trails took about five minutes for us to go down. Just keep in mind that this resort has only two lifts. One leads to a small treeless hill and one leads to a big treeless hill.
Service: The service was courteous and helpful. The people working at the rentals were especially friendly. However, the food is like that of all snowboard resorts, pricey and tasteless. Word of advice, do not get the chicken tenders and fries unless you feel like something extremely salty.
Crowds: This place wasn't very crowded at all. So long as you avoid eating at rush hour, you will spend very little time waiting for anything at this resort. However, be warned, there are many children at this resort. I had to constantly look down to avoid hitting small children. If you do not like having to deal with kids, this is not the place for you.
Activities: From what I can tell, the entire resort consists of a giant bunny hill. Not much going on except the the snowboard and ski lessons.
Value: This is my absolute biggest gripe about the place. You do not get nearly enough for what you pay for. This is an excellent place to teach young children or beginners how to snowboard or ski. The place is designed specifically for newbies. However, the price of the lift tickets and rentals were on par with actual ski resorts. I wouldn't have minded paying 30 or possibly 40 dollars to ride a bunny slope over and over for four hours, but i ended up paying 35 dollars for the snowboard rentals and 25 dollars for a half-day lift ticket. The full day lift tickets are 35 dollars in case you are wondering. At this ski resort, you are considered an adult if you are 13 and over (I don't even know if that's legal). That tells you a lot about what type of skiers and snowboarders this resort is geared towards. If you got 70 dollars to burn on riding a bunny slope for 6 hours, feel free to come here. It is an excellent place for families but, in my opinion, is not worth the money.

As a beginner hill for kids, this place is the best. There is not much terrain, but this is good for us with young kids - i didn't have to worry about losing them. We came during the winter beach party - what a great time. The staff was friendly and the band was a blast. Resonably priced too.

An excellent place to ski with small kids! Very child-friendly resort. Perfect value for children ski school.

Terrible! Parking was a mess, with a huge hike to the lifts. Big crowds which the resort couldn't handle. The terrain is incredibly small and for beginners only.
