Sierra can be a great mountain on powder days (but can't almost any?). We were there while it was dumping. Visibility was my only complaint. Crowds dissappeared when the snow started (dumb people). And the black diamonds and trees were endlessly phenomenal. The lift setup is definitely awkward. Since I wasn't familiar with the mountain, I am sure I missed some sweet runs b/c of the lift setup. But I got plenty out of the mountain.

The Grand View runs are very nice, and the powder and tree skiing were super nice. West bowl is nice but the runs are short. That said, their lift setup is bad, probably the worst of the 4 resorts in Tahoe I've boarded. There are two lifts worth especially going up, one more than the other. The crowds flock to them. Lines can take over 30 minutes, and to add to the frustration, they sell a pass that lets people cut in line, if you can afford it and want to be sneered at by the large majority. Also they don't have names posted on any of the lifts, which adds confusion to the first time experience.
