Alpine was everything I expected it to be, good terrain for everyone to enjoy. A few flaws as listed, one is the food, this was absolutely the worst food ever that I ate in any ski resort, everything was horrible the fries the burger and the pizza, but I guess people don't go to eat at ski resorts its just something to note. Another problem was that the Sherwood express lift broke while we were in the back of the resort, making it impossible for anyone to get out of there, long story short we got out in the lift but it took us like 45 minutes, and then after they got everyone out they closed that part of the resort. The place is a lot of fun, good wide runs, the crowds were non-existent and the lines were very short, conditions were very nice. The park was ok, nothing spectacular, and getting around the resort can be a little complicated. Parking its really nice and close to the lodge as long as you there early we parked like 20 feet away from the lodge, and we got there at 8:55 am, they open at 9am, it was in march so some spring like conditions we noticeable. Lots of trees but maybe to spread apart, I guess if you look for glades you could find some fun ones, I know we did, this resort reminds me a lot of beaver creek, CO it seems like they try to hard to resemble highways by over doing the wide trail with the grooming. Lake Tahoe has lots to offer what an incredible place, I wish I lived there. I know I will keep alpine and Tahoe in my list for next season. Just to note another resort I tried and loved is Sugar bowl, be sure to look into it, its an amazing resort, I was not to crazy about Squaw valley.

If you're looking for long lift lines, crappy attitude, lots of day glo, and enjoy having snow-plowing beginners cutting in front of you while you try to reach the bottom of your lift, by all means, pay the $65+ and go next door to Squaw. But if you appreciate low key, true High Sierra skiing and a great value, Alpine's the place. Acres of open bowl skiing, heart-thumping steeps, a few tree patches and 2 high speed chairs, including the Summit 6 which takes you from bottom to top in 4 minutes. Alpine is a true skier's hill, with different ability runs well marked and separated and a gorgeous scenery. And for $41 a lift ticket it's the best deal in Tahoe.

Went to Alpine last Friday and had a great time skiing. Right off CA-89 down the highway from Squaw Valley. The Terrain is very good for the area and AM had enough trails and lifts to keep us busy. Tons of blue runs and enough black for some of the advanced skiers in our group. It was the last resort we hit after 7 days of skiing in Tahoe and 5 out of 6 people in the group rated Alpine as the best or second best resort on the trip. We also hit Sierra @ Tahoe, Squaw, Homewood, Heavenly and Kirkwood. They also got like 8" of snow that day to cover up some of the ice from the spring like conditions early in the week, so that helped. Customer Service was great, didn't wait in line to purchase a lift ticket, no lift lines, enough activities on the hill to grab a seat. Staff was very helpful and friendly. No Crowds. It was the start of President Day weekend and still there was no one there. Wide open runs with no people = a fun time. Alpine is a good value for the $41 lift ticket, no crowds, open runs and friendly staff. I will ski AM again.
