I loved silverstar...although I would probably consider my self a less than athletic person who was still struggling with the concept of snow plowing when I arrived, I persevered for some time with some great instructors on the great array of green beginner slopes .

I now can proudly say I do a very nice stem Christie turn on the green groomers.

I too found a nice Canadian girl like the review from Mick from Australia ..me and the lovely girl had long romantic nights sitting up communicating to each other but unfortunately she found out that I skied with a nasty stem and promptly moved on.

All in all a great resort, friendly staff and great beginner slopes.
If your a bit slow and uncoordinated at picking skiing up like me ,then silver star ski school is just your ticket.

I have visited silver star twice in the last couple of years...A summary of my visit

1 . great shopping...I am totally blinged up.which is important for the fashion conscious skier like myself who likes to be easy on the eye.

2. great terrain and powder although doing a double ejection whilst doing Mach 4 and plowing into a hard cat track did slow me down for a few hours..I shook it off, brought a helmet and resumed like a champion

3.Accommodation , fantastic, 10 meters walk to the lift everymorning and straight to Buccaboos for a early coffee to stiffen things up.

4. tuition- fantastic although i have a tendency to not listen and ski off...when you rip who needs to listen !!

5. Nitelife ..I smelt the sweet scent of sister looking for a man and the chief answered the call .... I picked up ...enough said. love the nitelife and ..I rule!!

6. whats not to love ...the master chief and his merry men will return.

Silver Star is a great hill. The expert terrain is challenging while the groomers are extremely well maintained. The only place I've seen long lines is on the six pack. Everywhere else there are few or no people in line.

It made a great destination for us when we decided to go there at the last minute over Presidents Day. We stayed in Vernon which is only 20 minutes away, we didn't need reservations and the hotel rates were very reasonable.

These tree lined slopes have light dry powder, and yet are not that high. A very good variety of runs from black to green/ and nordic as well. A fairly new terran park area. Night skiing. The village is a wonderful place to stay. Lessons from the instructors are excellant. It has the flavor of Telluride, and yet the access to the ski area is extremely doable. Some excellant cusine, and some eateries just fun places to hang out. You need to stay there for at least 4/5 days to discover the complete experience of Silver Star. And you will come back.

Great hill. The village is nice and the food at the cafe is good. I love the backside it has nice steep slopes and the front side is a great place for begginer to intermediate skiers. The best thing is the cooler temps, I know that most people dont like extremly cold temps but I do. The avg temp is great so the snow is always very lite and dry.
