We love Manning for a winter holiday. It is such a family oriented place with very decent downhill terrain and topnotch cross country. When we go, we stay at the lodge or in a cabin and downhill, snowshoe, play outdoor hockey, swim in the lodge indoor pool (& hot tub, sauna, exercise), eat some of our meals in our room and go to the excellent restaurant for some meals. Even at Christmas break there are basically no lineups. There is a really wonderful feeling about the place - not ostentatious but very nice. We love it!

This is a smaller resort but has fantastic, dry snow if you are a powder skier. Although there are runs for skiers and boarders of all abilities, the best runs are in the trees or on the steeps where you can almost always find powder snow. No crowds. Friendly people. Not a lot of after hours entertainment although the hotel has a big indoor pool and sauna. This is a very family friendly mountain.

Terrain: Not challenging enough. Beginner Mountain. Service: This was good. Friendly staff. Crowds: What crowds? Lack of crowds. Activities: None really, there is some boring stuff like snowshoeing. Value: Not good, boring mountain, go to the North Shore.
