Having skied all across Canada, US and Europe, I find this area a stunning mountain paradise, too bad the ski part can't match it in any category, other than the vistas. The grooming is very inconsistent, the staff made up of friendlies from downunder unfamiliar with the skills and responsibility required to run a modern ski area. The lodge offers a nostalgic experience, a la 1940, complete with discarted surplus school furniture to sit on. On Goats Eye a tent serves as the lodge, I don't know... The skiing is so la la, some good short pitches, lots of flats, Goats Eye your best bet. There are some good mogels. This all would be "not so bad", if it was'nt for the sky high lift prices. The second highest in the world I understand, 30% higher than St.Moritz or Davos, whose tickets includes 5 major areas and free bus and train transport. Put me down for a two, sorry. Tom

GREAT TERRAIN FOR INTERMEDIATES AND EXPERTS. SOME FLAT AREAS MIGHT MAKE IT HARD FOR BEGINERS. ONCE YOU MAKE IT ATOP THE GONDOLA THERE ARE MANY LIFTS TO DISPERSE THE CROWDS. SNOW QUALITY IS VERY GOOD. LIFT TICKETS ARE 25% LESS THAN AMERICAN RESORTS. SKI RENTALS ARE 25% MORE. THIS MOUNTAIN SEEMS TO GET MORE SKIERS THAN LOUISE, BUT CAN HANDLE THE CROWDS WELL.

We return every year as our favorite place to ski. Goat's Eye is a morning favorite. Staff are very friendly. Snow is best in Canada!
