Since its opening on New Years Eve, 1987, The Riverhorse has been highly regarded by both restaurant critics and the dining public. In 1995, the Riverhorse became the first restaurant in Utah to receive the DiRoNA Award. This very prestigious honor, dedicated to excellence in dining, was bestowed that year on only 223 restaurants from throughout all of North America. The Riverhorse has maintained this distinguished honor each year since.


On January 16th, 2000 the Riverhorse received the ultimate honor in the hospitality industry, when it was selected by the Mobil Travel Guide as one of the top 108 restaurants in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Riverhorse is the first restaurant in Utah to ever receive this highly coveted award and the only restaurant in the state to ever be honored with both the DiRoNA Award and the Mobil Four Star Award.
