$58 for a Midwest lift is definitely pricey, then I get up there and find out that the Saturday night lift special is ONLY $15. Problem with Granite is that 70% of the terrain is in the first half of the run from the top, after that, it's almost not worth skiing down any farther, so we use one of the mid-stations to reload the chairlift at the bottom of the "steeper" part of the hill, instead of riding the hi-speed chair when it fills up. Last time there, they insisted on only using one guy to scan tickets, so naturally, he was the choke point and not the high-speed lift. They also kept the day lodge closest to the hi-speed chair closed for the day (on a Sunday), when it's way bigger that the "Historic Lodge"

up top is real nice because it is steep you get some nice turns and plenty of speed. but the bottom is boring it is so flat. I rated terrain so low because i am a kid who likes making nice turns but also park. Some of their jumps absolutley suck they are big jumps with no place to land. IT HURTS. My cousin calls them the death traps. value is so low because 50 dollars for maybe 650 vertical. I could pay 40 to go to a basin in colorado. Because it is so handy for people from chicago and their are use to expensive. sevice because i mean its a midwest resort where are you going to find a midwest resort like deer valley where they unload your skis for you i mean its freaking granite peak. Crowds its on off you really have to hit the right days meaning no holidays and avoid weekends as best as possible. Activites for the same reason as service its a midwest resort. All in all i would not suggest this resort over a place like norway ski brule or marquette or blackjack or indienhead. But its preety fun because of some diverse terrain. Mouguls trees jumps steeps chutes.

Granite is a great midwest resort. It has it's drwabacks though, besides it's expansive trail system, nothing is truly challenging, and there is not enough diverse terrain. It's also much pricier, but where else in the midwest will you find a high speed lift?
