Jay Peak is a place that I wanted to ski at since I was a kid. At the time, it was because I wanted to see the Jet T, which is only a memory now. I am so mixed about this place. Typical north east hill in that there are good steep pitches at the top of the hill, but lots of extra horizontal distance has been put at the bottom to get a small amount of extra vertical. Given the price of the lift tickets and what they must save on grooming, some high speed lifts would be nice. The Tram is an experience, but not very efficient. A couple of good Gondolas would be a better fit. The one high speed chair almost makes it, but cuts off a lot of the hill and the rest of the lifts are crawlers. The snow was good in the morning, but by the time the afternoon rolled around, it was typical east snow, heavy on top of ice. I enjoyed myself, but I expected a lot more. I was annoyed by the web page's what to do on your first visit. It talked about everything except skiing. Simple things like where to park for easy access to lift tickets would be a lot more helpful than explaining how great the water park is. The people on the hill where very friendly.
