I think that Libery Mountain is as good as you can get in the area. Yeah, its mid-Atlantic, so there is often ice, but they do what they can with it. They have recently updated many of their snowmakers to reduce this problem.
As far as the staff goes, I haven't seen any better. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They like being there as much as the skiiers and boarders. Crowds can get a little big on a Friday or Saturday, but that just goes to show that it is a good place to be.
