Nice place, but the lifts are so poorly designed. Yes the mountain has plenty of space but all the high speed quads pretty much end up in the same place, so you can not enjoy the entire mountain unless you like crossing flat areas for long distances. Poorly managed too, I was there for a week and they had some kind of gas leak due to construction. Everyone was parking where the main lodge is suppose to be, but no one told anyone that the lift was down. So you could not access the mountain unless you hiked up the hill or waited for a half an hour for a ride. They have a nice small village, but the new owners decided they want to move the main lodge down the hill further, which makes no sense except that they want to get rid of the the businesses at the old village and make a new one down the hill. So I guess you can call this a small mountain trying to be big, but does not have a clue.

Good skiing, no crowds (except for Christmas and President's week). Plenty of tree skiing. They just announced that they were shutting down the Super Pipe and Nordic skiing for 08/09 though, so be aware.

No lines, great hospitality, and breath taking views! A few of the many reasons we take the train to Big Mountain every year in March. Make sure you go downtown and try a burger at the "Bulldog", and have Rachel make you a drink at "Casey's". Good Times!
