Lutsen claims to be Midwest's biggest and best.....well let me tell you.... IT IS!!! I've compared topo maps of Lutsen and Bohemia (they both claim highest), and they are actually the same. And even if Bohemia was higher, you still wouldn't go on a family ski trip there. If you want steep chutes.... Eagle has several... if you want moguls.... Eagle has a couple runs and Moose has Grizzly, a full length mogul run..... if you want back country runs... Moose has tons of those.....and if you want a real challenge... try "The Plunge" on the backside of moose...we're talkin 95% slope here....

Lutsen has plenty of challenging terrain, but the whole family will have fun here. Ullr Mtn has all beginner terrain, the newest mtn Mistery Mtn is home to the longest runs that are up to 2 miles long and are great intermediate cruisers. Mistery also has a terrain park. Eagle mtn has tons of steep chutes on one side and some amazing blue cruisers on the other side overlooking Lake Superior. When you take the midwest's only gondola up to Moose Mtn, you will find everything from Blue Cruisers-Black Diamonds-Mogul Fields-Double Black Backcountry runs.

In conclusion, Lutsen is simply the best between the Rockies and the Appalachians. Lutsen has the next best thing.... the Sawtooth Mountains! And your family will have a great time with the skiing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, live entertainment, and restaurants. In summer enjoy the hiking, horse back riding, and alpine slide!!!
