This is a review of the cat skiing operation, which leaves right from the Brundage ski area. We had a group of guys hoping for powder, and arrived to find out that there hadn't been any new snow for a couple of weeks, which is not normal for this area. Not to worry--they found us run after run of untracked knee deep light and fluffy up on the mountain tops. The guides were first-rate--really knew where to find the best snow, and how to avoid major hazards. Lots of freedom to pick your own way down to the cat and lots of variety in terrain. They served us a great lunch of hot soup and sandwiches up on the mountain. We had such a good time that we went a second day. Had 11 guys so could rent a whole cat and save some money. Unfortunately the cat had an accident the second day and got stuck, so lost an hour waiting for another cat to come up to get us after we hiked out, but that's part of back country skiing. All in all a great experience!
