Granted it's been a while, but I loved this area when in Tahoe. The snow was deep and because it is off the 'big destination" list I found it far less crowded than Heavenly or Squaw. Smaller of course but deep light snow and a really friendly feel.

Kirkwood is a great ski area with a smaller feel to it. Even though it's a large place, you just don't feel like it is. Plus, the snow isn't your typical Sierra snow...it has a light fluffy powder feel to it.

Not too many jumps and natural hits, but the ridge is fun and the powder is epic!
