WB is a huge area, but surprisingly disjointed - there are just a lot of places where you CAN'T ski and you get funneled back into the same run or lift that you were trying to avoid. Snow conditions can also be iffy - in terms of both depth and heavy-ness. While it's definitely an area you should ski at least once, I would plan for January or February to give you the best chance at a decent base depth, and cold enough temps for lighter snow.

A very nice area with good transportation services. I've been here twice, 1999 and 2004. In 2004 I stayed at a nice hotel within walking distance to the two fast quad chair lifts. Because Whistler is near to the sea the snow can get a bit slushy at times, especially the lower parts. Lifts can be very crowded at the beginning of the day. During the day the waiting time is acceptable, especially because you can do long routes from top to valley.

Big mountain, big terrain, big challenges - great destination hill but comes with all one would expect at a destination; crowds, feels like a city, etc. Great for families as there is also a lot to do other than the hill. But if it rains it's bad. Put a garbage bag in your pack as a matter of course as you just can't be sure. Personally I would not by a day pass to cover both mountains as there is so much terrain on either that it is worth focussing your energy on one at a time. On the other hand if you are there for a week - the two mountain pass is the way to go.

two 5000ft vertical peaks? yup. Improved Sea to Sky highway should make the drive up much easier.
