Best area in Alberta for sure, skied here and stayed at Chateau Lake Louise, what a classic old lodge.

Classic big mountain in the Rockies. Good terrain choices for all levels. Beginners and intermediate love the front side - best skiing for advanced skiers is off the poma and over the back side or over the back from Top of World Chair. If bumps are your thing it is alot of fun in Ptarmigan when the light is good. Also good access to back country from the back side - but you need a day pass if you want to cut some ascent time at the start of the day (by using the lifts) and at end of day (if you want to get out of resort via lift instead of taking the cat track out - which is flat in places). And yes, the lifties check at the end of the day for passes. On a big snow year LL is heaven - on a lighter year it's place as part of the "rocky mountains' becomes apparent. Folks from Utah and Colorado will never see as much snow here (or at other Banff Area resorts) as they do at home. But, the National Park destinations are spectacular and offer an aspect of the outdoors that big developments have lost.
