When you think about skiing out West, you might imagine lots of snow, long trails bordered with pine trees, and fresh powder. Snowboarders and freeskiers images of the latest features in the closest resorts terrain parks. Cascade Mountain in Wisconsin is a slice of Western life, right here in the Midwest.

Situated in the Baraboo Bluff region of south-central Wisconsin, Cascade's north-facing slopes offer real skiing variety. Some of the 35 trails, like the Mogul Monster, are steep and challenging to any skier, while trails like Far Out are over a mile long and fun for beginners and cruisers. Getting to the top of the mountain is fast and easy with ten lifts, including the high-speed Mountain Express quad chairlift.

Snowboarding and freeskiing are the rage out West and at Cascade Mountain. Cascade caters to the adventurous type with five terrain parks. Terrain parks are areas with man-made fun features like jumps and steel rails to slide on. Cascade has constructed over 30 acres of terrain parks. The Cottontail Beginner/Progression park has small jumps and rails, while Cascade's Super Park has very challenging features like America's longest S-rail (it's curved, and if you ride it all on video you'll get a free season pass), and big-air jumps.

Knowing that skiing or snowboarding isn't everyone's cup of tea, Cascade Mountain added a Snow Tube Park. Tubing is fun and easy, and no experience is required. The Snow Tube Park has five tube lanes, each about 800 feet long. And no more walking to the top of the tubing hill, as Cascade's tubing park has a magic carpet lift to take you back up to the top for another ride.
