Batawa Ski Hill was first started in 1955 by a dedicated group of Bata Shoe Factory employees. The employees obtained permission from Mr. Thomas Bata to clear some trees and install a homemade rope tow on one of the hills close to the shoe factory. All the work was done by volunteers who had a keen interest in community spirit and skiing.

Today, the ski hill has evolved to three lifts and seven runs and it is still managed and operated by volunteers. There is not a better place to learn how to ski or snowboard in the area. Batawa Ski Hill is also a great hill to get back in shape, if you are planning a ski vacation.

Batawa is 5km north of the 401 at exit 525, Highway 33 North from Trenton. Once in Batawa, follow the signs. The Ski Hill is about 5 minutes from the 401.
