A Real Town and A Real Mountain

For several years, Lake Placid has been named number one in North America for off-hill activities by Ski Magazine. In fact, Lake Placid has been sited as the model ski resort of the future.

Lake Placid isn't just an outdoor mall like some resorts. There are no sprawling developments, no strip malls, no endless lines of traffic. Lake Placid isn't a corporate notion of what a ski resort should be. Lake Placid is a real mountain resort -- with a real mountain.

Whiteface Mountain has long been home to some of the best alpine boarding in the East. And freestylers have been catching major air in our terrain park for years.

Whiteface offers a great ride for any boarder willing to try, and it just keeps getting better.

Just for Kids
For youngsters new to the sport of skiing, Whiteface Mountain is the perfect place to learn. One-third of the mountain's terrain is beginner trails.

There is even an area created just for beginners, Kids Kampus. Here kids can learn to love the sport under the guidance of some of the best children's instructors around.

  • It wasn't a bad experience at all. The terrain and food were good, but so many trails were closed even though it was during the March…
Iceface! there is a reason they call it that. Don't plan on ever going back
I had a great time here. It snowed all week long and the powder on the top of the Mountain was waist deep and skiing was like nothing I have experienced before or after.
