Red River is located in the southern Rocky Mountains, part of the Sangre de Cristo Range. The village is completely surrounded by Carson National Forest.

Winter visitors enjoy excellent skiing on the 10,350-foot mountain, which rises from the middle of town toward the old, western mining sites of the 1800s.

Skiers tackle 57 runs on 270 skiable acres of varied terrain to suit every ability. You can even ski to a replica of the Moon Star Mine of the 1890s. Snowboarders are welcome on all trails.

Skier services at Red River include rental equipment, ski shops, ski school, Youth Ski Club for 4 to 10 year olds, child care. There is also a cafeteria and restaurants on the mountain.

There are plenty of Lodging accommodations to choose from located nearby to the ski area. Main Street is just a block from the ski area lifts! Red River is a skiers town! You'll also find an inviting variety of dining and apres-ski entertainment to grab a drink and an appetizer to warm up!

Just three miles from Red River lies the Enchanted Forest Cross-Country Ski Area offering 30 km of groomed trails and incredible scenery. An inexpensive Learn-to-Ski package includes lesson, rental and trail pass. Snow Tubing is offered in the evenings for a little more fun on the slopes.

If you would like a change of pace, try snowmobiling- we offer the only evening snowmobile tour that takes you up the ski area and beyond the boundaries to a beautiful open meadow and unfinished mining cabins.

Come experience the Ski Town of the West, Red River New Mexico!
