Undiscovered Treasure

Silver Mountain is an undiscovered treasure at the heart of north Idaho's mining country.

Where prospectors once found rich deposits of silver, skiers and snowboarders now enjoy the lightest, driest powder snow in the Northwest, accessed by a world-class gondola ride to the top.

It's a skier's mountain with diverse and challenging terrain: Two 6,300-ft. mountain peaks, three bowls, 2,200 vertical feet, 53 runs, exciting tree skiing and some of the finest powder stashes you'll find anywhere.

It's so uncrowded, locals complain if they have to wait more than a minute or two to jump on a chair.

After a fresh helping of Rocky Mountain powder (average 300 inches) you can make fresh tracks down Wardner Peak all morning.

Silver Mountain has been favorably compared to Telluride before the crowds arrived. Western hospitality, unmatched guest services and family friendly prices are combined with acres of powder, wide uncrowded slopes and exciting terrain: bumps, trees, chutes, gladed meadows, groomed cruisers and rolling novice runs.

You'll love how easy it is to get here. No switchbacks, no hairpin curves. Simply drive four-lane Interstate 90 to Kellogg, just 5 hours from Seattle, jump on board the World's Longest Gondola, and ride in style three miles up the mountain to our full-service ski lodge.

Nearby accommodations range from resort hotels and vacation homes to bed and breakfasts.

The Silver Mountain base village is located at Exit 49 off Interstate 90, just 68 freeway miles east of the Spokane, Wash., International Airport and 40 minutes from Coeur d'Alene.
