Elegance, Refinement and Restful Contemplation...
The Willows Inn is a small bed and breakfast establishment located on a secluded acre lot just a short walk to Taos Plaza.
Each of the Inn's five guest rooms has a private entrance, private bath and a welcoming kiva fireplace, which is set daily. The rooms are decorated in a variety of themes highlighting the various historic cultures significant to the Taos area.
Listed on the State and National Historic Registers, the walled estate was once the home and studio of the late E. Martin Hennings. Hennings was one of Taos' most noted artists and a member of the revered Taos Society of Artists (a.k.a. "The Taos Ten") in the 1920s.
The atmosphere within the large adobe walled grounds is one of elegance, refinement and restful contemplation of the natural surroundings. The grounds consist of an expansive lawn graced by two of the largest living willow trees in North America for which the Inn was named. Extensive gardens and a unique lily pond in the front lawn add to the mesmerizing beauty of the Inn. Roses, colorful perennials and bulb flowers grace The Willows Inn from early spring to late autumn.
The lovely enclosed courtyard invites the traveler to relax in the afternoon sunshine, listen to the fountain and breathe in the fragrance of the flowers under the incomparably bright blue Taos sky.
The Living Room offers a TV, stereo and a library of more than 450 classical and jazz CD recordings. Playing cards, games and puzzles are available in the game nook. With nine fireplaces in the bed and breakfast, guests are sure to find a cozy place to curl up with a good book from The Willows Inn library.
One of the innkeepers is an avid fly-fisherman and fishing guide. A portable fly tying table, vise and tools are provided for guests use. Guided fishing trips are available upon request.
Offering special touches is the norm at The Willows Inn. Upon arrival, guests may find fresh baked cookies, fresh fruit or flowers in their rooms. Many breakfasts include fresh herbs, fruits or vegetables from The Willows Inn garden. In the summer, breakfast can be taken on the sunny courtyard while a crackling fire awaits guests in the dining room during the cooler months.
After a full day in the galleries or on the slopes, guests can relax and visit over scrumptious, homemade afternoon refreshments. A basket of restaurant menus is available for guests to choose their noon and evening meals.
