Applegate has a unique location - a country estate, near horse farms, with only a half mile walk to downtown Lee, and just minutes to all the area has to offer.

The estate setting offers a respite from the hectic pace of Berkshire county's many cultural, historical and recreational attractions to insure a memorable New England vacation.

Guests are pampered with attentive service and encouraged to "savor the tranquility" from in front of a roaring fire or in the heated swimming pool or in a hammock for two, depending on the season. A gourmet breakfast is provided each morning, served on crystal and china by candlelight with soft music in the background. Wine and cheese is offered each evening.

Main House Guest Rooms:
Besides each having their own private bath, guests will find fresh flowers in each guest room, along with a crystal decanter of brandy and Godiva chocolates. Each of the eight guest rooms are centrally air conditioned. During the cooler months, guests will enjoy the cozy fireplaces found in each of the guest rooms. At the same time, in each room, guests can snuggle under a warm feather comforter and experience the tranquility Applegate provides.

The Carriage House:
The Carriage House was built in the 1920s to house the owner's "carriages." Today the carriages have been replaced by two luxury suites. Antiques, luxury and privacy in our new carriage house suite. Climb into its four poster king size bed. View the fireplace from the sofa or whirlpool tub. Prepare a beverage in the wet bar area with refrigerator and relax on your private patio. TV/VCR/CD

From Applegate, you can explore the many attractions of the Berkshires by car, on foot or by bike or snowshoes (provided by Applegate). Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell Museum, Shakespeare and Company, Jacobs Pillow, Berkshire Theater Festival, Butternut Ski Area, Cranwell Golf Club, Mass MOCA and the Greenock Golf and Tennis Club (across the street from Applegate) are just a sampling of the many Berkshire attractions nearby.
