27 Beautiful Cottages to Choose From... Golden Bear Cottages, established in 1924, the AAA approved Cabins are nestled among historic pines on six scenic acres in Big Bear Lake, CA.Outdoor recreational facilities on this Diamond rated resort are for adults and children and include a beautiful heated pool and spa(the spa is open all winter). There is sand lot volleyball, ping-pong, horseshoes, basketball, shuffleboard, and a large cedar play set and sandbox for small children. A private salon is located right on the property and offers massages by registered massage therapists. The largest "Retreat Lodge", (cabin #28) is perfect for meetings, conferences, reunions and retreats. This large cabin has indoor meeting space for at least 50 persons and sleeping accomodations for up to 23 people, it is Big Bear Lake's most unique cabin for a large party. They even have a rustic meeting room available for parties or groups up to 75 persons. You can also add as many of the other 27 cabins for a group of up to 200 persons by using the entire six acre resort. Golden Bear Cottages also features a large outdoor fire pit with bench seating which is open during permit periods. Individual barbecues and private picnic areas for each cottage. Golden Bear Cottages is located on Big Bear Blvd, 3 blocks past Boulder Bay and just minutes away from Big Bear's ski resorts, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. They are also Big Bear's closest lodging to Snow Valley. Golden Bear Cottages is a AAA approved Diamond rated, four season family resort, located just one half to one block from Big Bear Lake and 1.2 miles from Big Bear's quaint village shops. It is the only lodging property certified clean by the Rest Assured Corporation (that's the company you have seen on TV's Prime Time). Winter SPA package deals are available which can include a private massage with your lodging reservation. Ask for details. A review of Golden Bear Cottages Resort. This establishment and the friendly owners make every effort to provide a great stay. These cabins include a fully stocked kitchen with frig, stove/oven, microwave, toaster and all utensils. The cabins are clean and have great individual mountain decor. For your comfort a thermostat controlled heater and fireplace are included along with TV, VHS and DVD player with rentals, a gift shop and firewood available at the office. The remodeled bathroom in our cabins included oversized tub with jacuzzi jets. We found all of this in the studio unit we rented for one night. Then we came back again a month later and rented another cabin... Everything was just as good the second time!

Big Bear Christian retreat with lake cabins for rent. Thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to the Golden Bear. Same clean cottage. Same great family owners and staff. Same cabin which is only a block from the lake. It's nice to have a comfortable relaxing place to go for a short vacation. After our second trip, we are sold. The Golden Bear is a perfect place for our family to have a getaway from the city life in any season!
